The “Vanishing Curve” is an oil painting by Arlene Shore, the daughter of a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union’s Local 22 which "had the distinction of being the first labor organization to institute regular creative activities in the field of art." The painting depicts a city's social and physical landscape in flux and illustrated a 1946 issue of the Magazine of Art on collaborations between artists, unions and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
